It’s another hawker food guide! There can never be too many.
Tanjong Pagar Food Centre is great. It’s cooling, clean and spacious. Except that it’s a quite a distance from my office, so when I’m there, I make sure my meal is worth the walk. And the occasional shock from birds.
Here are 15 stalls to try when you’re there. They’re all merchants of XINDOTS, this means 12% cash back for every hawker transaction + additional discounts when you check out with our voucher.
Can save $ then save la, don’t be paiseh to get food at a discounted rate plz. Unless you think you’re very rich then okay lo. #cantrelate

1. K.L Seafood, #02-04
I love clams, they’re just like me… We both find it hard to open up to people. :”) There’s something about this dish that makes it so addictive…. is it the chilli?! I don’t know, but I can easily finish this in 5 minutes. I seriously need to CLAM DOWN.

Air-conditioned place for your chicken rice fix on hot days. As you can tell from the picture, the chicken is so tender! Pour the gravy over the rice for that extra oomph. They also have Thai Iced Tea for just $2. Omg??? Overall shiok factor: 5/5.

1. Mad Bros SG, #02-03
Creamy Chicken Ramen ($6.90)
Mad Bros shouldn’t sound unfamiliar! We were all pleasantly surprised by the Chicken Char Siew, it tasted so similar to the usual Pork Char Siew. Broth was also really creamy and definitely not overly oily and salty. This stall is Halal certified and run by a muslim family. $6.90 can be a little pricey but we can assure you it’s worth it. I’m a hopeless ramentic for ramen.
2. Old Tiong Bahru Roast Specialist, #02-38
There will always be that 1 person who gets roasted meat for lunch every other day. If you can’t think of someone like that, then maybe that person is you. Heading out with a group of colleagues? Order the 4 Combinations dish + rice! This plate alone feeds 3, but you can top up $3 for a medium portion or $7 for a large portion.
3. Lin Ji Fish Soup Ban Mian, #02-33
Dish: Fried Fish Soup ($4)
Fish soup stalls usually have very long queues, and there will always be that one colleague who will make y’all wait for another 20 minutes while they queue. Sounds familiar?
Get the best of both worlds here – Fish Soup & Ban Mian.
4. Spinach & Soup, #02-34
Set A ($4) Set B ($4)
As mentioned in our previous blog post, Spinach & Soup is honestly one of the best options if you’re on a diet or you’re looking at something healthy. It’s filling and definitely won’t cause embarrassing tummy grumbles at 5pm.
5. Han Guo Liao Li, #02-35
FOOD TASTES BETTER WHEN THERE ARE MULTIPLE PLATES AND BOWLS ON YOUR TRAY LOL. #cheapthrills
My go-to for Korean stalls would usually be their pork. They’re always well-seasoned and can never go wrong. Right???
6. Tian Xiang Ri Ji, #02-36
Back when I was an intern in my previous company, my colleagues would always be talking about fish soup. When I started working full-time, I asked around for my colleagues’ opinions on fish soup and everyone said “FISH SOUP IS NICE!!!!”.
Tried their fish soup with fish soup lovers and they approve! Also, LOOK AT THAT FISH MAW. Where else to get this bowl at that price?
But really, what’s with working adults and fish soup?

9. Ming Kee Cook Food, #02-24
Another Cai Png stall. Yay to Cai Png lovers because y’all always don’t know what to eat. Prices starts from $3 and you get another 12% cash back when you order through XINDOTS!
10. Ying Jang Thai Food, #02-50
Good Thai food is not easy to come by in Hawker centres. Substandard Thai food? Ain’t nobody got Thai for that. Ying Jang is really the only place I’ll go to for Thai Food when I’m in the area.
