Tucked in a small secluded corner of Tiong Bahru lies a small cafe called Caffe Pralet. Amidst all the cafe in the area, Caffe Pralet is one you don’t want to miss!
Appetizer
One signature dish you won’t want to miss at Caffe Pralet is their Chili Crab Cheese Fries ($12). Crispy fries that are fried to perfection and drenched in chili crab sauce together with nacho cheese! Who can resist such an alluring combination!
” Tiong Bahru is a hotspot for cafes and Caffe Pralet is one of them. Their Chilli Crab Cheese Fries (S$12) were absolutely delightful. Topped generously with 100% shredded backfin crab, you know you are in for the real deal. Albeit the myraid of flavours, they complemented each other well and wasn’t jelat at all. With their unique and delicious creations, they are one of the best cafes around in my opinion. ”

Mains
The one thing I have been craving about since my visit to Caffe Pralet is their Kai Phrik Kwan ($17). Have you ever seen peanut sauce as a base for a pizza before? Not till you have checked out Caffe Pralet. The blend of peanut sauce, thai style sweet chilli chicken, onions, coriander, pineapples, coconut yogurt and mozzarella cheese might seem weird but it WORKS!

Another main I would strongly recommend is their Har Jeong Gai Charcoal Burger ($17). Don’t let the dark looking burger fool you. Inside the burger has a thick slab of chicken cutlet fried to perfection. When I bit down on the burger, I was surprised at how crispy the chicken cutlet was yet retaining its juiciness on the inside!
” Best Har Jeong Gai Burger I’ve had in SG. Fries were crispy and fresh, the chicken meat was succulent and tasty from the tip of the skin down to every bite.”

Overall Caffe Pralet is a great cafe if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing time with great ambience. At Caffe Pralet, they mainly serve asian-western fusion dishes that are not over the top. They have done a really stunning job of elevating our local dishes to something modern and western yet retaining the vibe of asian food.
